We're over 57 years old! Harvest Health Foods was around when tofu was considered part of ballet (only spelled wrong!) Now, we continue to bring you the most up to date natural health products for you and your family.
Harvest Health Foods opened in the 1952, shortly after Henry Diedering came to the United States from the Netherlands. He sold natural products, baked goods and breads made with whole grain flours, door to door. Henry’s efforts eventually grew into Harvest Health Foods, the premier natural grocer in West Michigan.
Henry did not think natural foods were out of the ordinary when he began his business. In the Netherlands, they didn't have packaged, processed foods like they had in the United States. His business was a natural outgrowth of his own traditions.
Cathy Atsma, Henry’s daughter worked with him for 20 years before taking over in 1991. Today, Cathy and her husband Henry manage three locations of Harvest Health Foods, the original; Eastern at Burton, the second location on Cascade at 28th and the newest location, on 32nd Avenue in Hudsonville.
When you walk in the door at Harvest Health Foods, you'll be pleasantly pleased to find our shelves lined with natural vitamins, supplements, groceries and organic produce. You'll also find sports nutrition, a wide selection of health and beauty care along with a library filled with more than 100 titles on health related topics.
Customer's satisfaction is our passion and that is reached through communication and education. The Harvest Health Foods staff listens to each customers needs and provides information on natural products and supplements to fit those needs. Each customer has unique and individual health issues that are addressed with care and understanding.
